Automated guided carts: upgrade your Morello cart to AGV
Automated material handling for heavy loads from 2 to 500 t. Any Morello category, from standard steering carts to OMNI, pallet jacks and rail-guided trolleys, can be built as a high-capacity automated guided cart. Same cart, same capacity, no operator on board.

How a Morello AGV finds its way
Morello proposes the technology, or a mix of technologies, that best fits each plant in terms of reliability and budget.
Natural navigation (SLAM)
Laser scanners map walls, racks and machines and the AGV locates itself on that map. No wires, tape or reflectors in the floor, so routes are quick and cheap to change. It is the system used on most recent Morello AGV projects.
Inductive guidance
The cart follows a wire embedded in the floor that carries an electric signal. Simple and robust on fixed, repetitive routes.
Inertial guidance
Gyroscopes and wheel encoders track the vehicle's movement, corrected by reference points set in the floor along the route.
Magnetic guidance
The vehicle follows magnetic tape or magnets on the floor. Routes are quick to install and easy to change.
Optical guidance
Cameras and optical sensors follow a line or markers on the floor, for clean indoor areas.
Laser guidance
A rotating laser scanner reads reflectors placed around the plant to calculate the vehicle's position with high precision at stations and docks.
DGPS guidance
Differential GPS for outdoor yards and long routes between buildings.
